If you are familiar with the term, it is sort of like Munchausen syndrome by proxy but consensual. A similar fetish (or psychopathology?) is called teratophilia. This term is applied to people who are attracted to others with monstrous or deformed bodies.
There are people who like being amputees as well
While technically not a requirement, at least I guess, common participants in this practice are called apotemnophiles – or people who are interested in becoming or revel in being amputees. It’s not super common, but it has been reported that there has been an increase in people who are getting their limbs partially or wholly removed.
And apparently, the people they like to fuck with are very specific as to what kind of limb gets sawed off. According to a 1983 study, acrotomophiles like leg amputations over arm removal, but prefer only a single surgery that leaves a stump over a ‘clean-cut.’

From what I’ve read, people who like amputees aren’t into that because they can fuck someone who can’t get away. Instead, they like the feeling of taking care of someone who depends on them.
Of course, I am sure that this doesn’t apply to people who were born without or tragically lost body parts in life, the people who are into being amputees have their reasons, so to speak. Being the opposite of acrotomophiles, the apo folk are the sort of needy assholes who like being taken care of.
Here is what experts say and what I think
Yeah, that all sounds weird – because it is – but as they say ‘lid for every pot,’ and ‘there’s nothing criminal about it if it’s consensual.’ However, I feel like I should bring up what psychologists say about this sort of sexual fetishism.
Instead of accepting the amputee fetishists’ position that this is a legit form of expressing autonomy, they worry that this is a sign of a severe problem. In fact, some argue that those who are into the whole amputee fetish are taking advantage of or suffering from Body Integrity Identity Disorder. Although the causes are not entirely understood, some researchers have found that the strength of a desire to remove a limb is proportional to missing grey matter in certain parts of the brain.
Of course, with that taken into account, it’s not much of a stretch to say that people who want to screw people with such a condition are taking advantage of mental illness.
Upon first thinking about it, I have to say I agree with concerned psychology specialists. But there is a part of me that does have certain reservations about being so condemning. In addition to being the most sexually liberal person out there, I can’t help but consider the feelings of people who are involuntarily mutilated in some way. They are still people and they need love, too. Plus, if they are sexual beings, there is no reason they shouldn’t be able to participate in the sex industry.
Of course, those who want to ‘care for’ such people may be problematic. I mean, as kinky as I am, I wouldn’t want to be with someone who only viewed me as being sexy for one feature, or rather a lack of one.
Then again, I suppose there are some people who like a person who happens to be an amputee and is truly beautiful. If that’s the case, I can’t fault them for that – so I guess my feelings about this kind of kink are mixed.

Surprise, surprise, this fetish is not only more common than you might suspect. Not only that but there are some people who have made amputee fetishism part of their career or their sex life.

This woman arguably is the first famous amputee to ever make it big in porn. Born with a defect where her right leg didn’t develop fully, Ms. Silver hasn’t let her condition be a disability for her.
