Dark Reader is a must-have extension for your browser. There, I said it. I mean, I don’t need to think about these things at all. I know for a fact that most of you guys out there are in dire need of a good extension that will convert any website into dark mode. It can be a real pain in the ass when you’re trying to watch porn at night, but your favorite site doesn’t have a dark mode option. So, when it comes to getting a good experience from any website, no matter what they have as their UI design by default, you should definitely go over to Dark Reader and see what this thing has in store for you. Let’s check it out in-depth.
Quick and easy free download and install
First things first, you should be aware that Dark Reader is available in the Chrome Webstore or on the Dark Reader website. Yes, it’s also in the Chrome store, but it’s a free extension. That’s right; you won’t be paying anything for it. That being said, when you download it from the Chrome Webstore, it means that you might run into some hiccups if you’re trying to get it to work on Firefox, for example. However, I’m pretty sure most of us are on Chrome anyway, so I don’t think that this will be a problem for most people. So, if you have Chrome, all you have to do is go to the webstore and download the extension free of charge. It’s incredible how easy it all is.
No worrying about hidden fees, no worrying about viruses. The extension downloads and installs within seconds and you get sent straight to the Dark Reader webpage where you can read up on all the functionalities of the app and so on. It’s really easy to get into it and it’s even simpler to download it for free and it installs automatically. I don’t know about you, but I’m reading all of that and I’m thinking why the heck I haven’t downloaded this thing before! I don’t know any other apps that work this well and that have been tried and tested by so many people out there. You’re going to adore this extension.
Exclude all the unnecessary websites
One thing that you need to be aware of Dark Reader is that it will turn pretty much every website into a dark mode variant. What does this mean? Well, it means that you can expect and website to be readable and usable late at night when you’re browsing it. And you can also expect not to fuck around with very bright backgrounds when you’re just trying to jerk off. The app automatically detects the style of the website you’re on and it will completely change the way it looks by using darker colors. It will invert certain colors and it will even created different styles of dark modes to choose from for all sites.
So, once you decide to convert all of the sites that you want, you’re probably worried that other websites are going to be converted too even though you don’t want them to, right? I get it, you’re on The Porn Dude, you’re on my site and you like the way I made the dark mode. You don’t want Dark Reader to interfere with good UI design like the one on my website, right? Well, not to worry, Dark Reader has ways for you to exclude sites from the extension. You can simply use the small extension box in the top-right corner of your Google Chrome browser to quickly and easily add a site to a list of exceptions. This means that the websites you choose won’t be affected at all, while all other sites will get a nice makeover.
Sometimes makes websites load slower
Of course, this method doesn’t come without its set of problems. First of all, you have to load up a site for the first time to be able to put it in the list of exceptions. This means that the first time you load up a website, it will automatically convert it even though this isn’t something that you wanted to happen. However, a more pressing issue might be with the loading times of all the sites that you try to use with Dark Reader. It can be pretty iffy when you try to use this app on certain sites. For example, social media websites take a while to load because there are just so many things to switch up and change there.
Porn sites are no different in this regard because they just have so many elements that the reader has to take into account. It will slow down your experience since pages will have to load for a longer amount of time. I know, I know, nobody likes to wait, especially when you have 10 different pornos that you want to watch. However, when you take into account that you’re really saving your eyesight in the process, I think that it can be worth it. If you ask me, there’s a reason why this is one of the most important extensions on the Chrome Webstore. It might slow the loading of sites down a bit, but once they’re saved in your cache, it won’t take long for them to load up from that point onward. It’s great.
Great ratings and even better features
And anyway, you don’t have to take my word for it. Simply look at the damn numbers! There are over 2,000,000 people
who have already downloaded the app and they all seem to think that it works great. Usually, dark mode extensions on the webstore get bad grades around 3.5, but Dark Reader managed to get one of the best ratings in the extension market with over 6000 people rating it to be at a 4.7 rating. That’s an insane score for any app, let alone a dark mode extension that usually doesn’t go to well with most people. I guess it’s because they just give you so many options in terms of customizing the pages.
Over 2,000,000 people can’t be wrong if you ask me, and the features are even better. You can change so many different parameters with this extension; it’s insane. For example, you can change the brightness, the contrast, the grayscale, and even the sepia value. This will dramatically alter the look and feel of your website, yet it’s so easy to use. It’s like putting on an Instagram filter; it’s that simple! You don’t have to worry about any technicalities about how the thing does its job in the background. You can rest assured that they are just using the info about the website to change the appearance of it.
Permissions are only needed for essential aspects
Some people really seem to be worried about the fact that Dark Reader asks for so many permissions when you download it. And to be honest, I would be worried too! However, you can see it all on their homepage, where they go into detail as to why they ask for the permissions that they ask for. No, they aren’t spying on any of your personal files. No, they aren’t selling your data to Amazon or any other sites or services out there. And no, they aren’t going to steal your identity. None of your personal info is disclosed in this extension, and the thing is completely localized, so you don’t have to worry about that.
Another cool feature is that you can save different settings for different websites. Simply click on the ‘Only for “site name”’ in the bottom part of the extension box and then all the changes you make will apply to the website you’re currently on and only that website from that point on. There are also site lists that you can manage that will deal with excluding certain platforms from the extension. For example, you don’t have to change my website at all since I already have a dark mode for you guys. However, I can definitely see a fair number of porn tube sites that desperately need a dark mode makeover. If you ask me, those sites should’ve gotten this treatment a long time ago. But hey, better late than never. Check out Dark Reader and enjoy all of its amazing features for free!
